Crimson Moss

This red moss is commonly found growing in small clumps In heathlands, In damp forests, and On trees.
It is average-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches, and is slightly flimsy; it takes a lot of damage when trodden on.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release hundred of spores.
