Bloodvine

This short caudiciform grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall. The needle-like stem is emerald, and is covered in handfuls of flexible light brown spines. It has a angular, flat, caramel trunk atop a slender block of rough, exposed roots. The branches are thick and bronze and are very short and thin.

The wavy-edged, kidney-shaped leaves are solid blood red with dark grey edges. They are flexible, but take some effort to detach.

It is quick growing, taking 4 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with white petals that gradient shift to deep red on the outer edge. The central disk is silver grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a sphere made up of 11 widely spaced, narrow petals. It has a mildly strong scent that smells like an ocean breeze.

The caudiciform's skin is extremely thick, the deep red flesh is sticky, and the azure sap is thin.
