Burgundy Honeysuckle

This modest-sized flower grows up to 11 inches (28 cm) tall. Its lime green stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 4 and are thin and straight, and split into dozens of branching stems a quarter of the way up, and the large, burgundy leaves are black on the underside and are asymmetrical with rounded edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

A single tiny flower sits at the end of the stem. The flowers are 5 cm (2.0 inches) wide, with each petal a slightly different shade of white. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 50 petals. They are sturdy.

It has an intense scent that smells like honeysuckle, and it has lots of pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind.
