Bronzeberry

This massive fruit tree grows up to 54 feet (16.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 40 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a wide, wonky trunk covered in thick, knobbly, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the very light wood is pine-coloured.

The numerous branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with copious amounts of large, wispy leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are solid azure with cream patches.

In early spring, it produces thousands of medium-sized, silver blossoms with 2 oblong shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a strong scent that smells like warm milk.

In early summer it produces large, circular fruit. The hairy purple skin is thin and edible when boiled; it is bitter and spicy, and the soft bronze flesh is sweet and oily. The lime seed is very large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.
