Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This modest-sized flower grows up to 1.2 feet (36 cm) tall. Its brown stem is wispy and straight, and the miniature, lime green and vibrant green leaves are thick with jagged edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.
