Bronzeberry

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 16 feet (4.9 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 26 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, straight trunk covered in fine, smooth, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the flexible wood is white.

The branches are very short and slender and are covered with small bunches of small, long, narrow leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of yellow-green that gradient shifts to gold at the top.

In early spring, it produces handfuls of small, dark grey blossoms with asymmetrical petals. They are hardy and have the faintest scent that smells like roses.

In late autumn it produces , stiff, pointed fruit. The rubbery lilac skin is thick and inedible, and the slightly crunchy bronze flesh is sour and powdery. The yellow seed is large and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.

All of it is said to be part of one single, massive plant.
