Copperfruit Tree

This small fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 52 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in hard, ridged, dark gray bark, and inside, the flexible wood is pale brown-grey.

The small bunches of branches are short stubs and are covered with handfuls of tiny, very thick leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are either olive, or copper with magenta patches.

In early spring, it produces hundreds of tiny, brown blossoms with 3 flame-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have a mildly strong scent that smells like sweat.

In mid-autumn it produces , long, straight fruit. The rough green skin is thick and inedible, and the very soft copper flesh is sweet and very dry. The lime seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
