Bluevine

Climbing plant type: Vine (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This giant vine is a very slow growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 1,622 feet (494.4 meters) and growing as high as 311 feet (94.8 meters).

It takes 26 years for the vivid blue stems to mature, by which point they each have a diameter of 1.8 feet (56 cm) and are rough and fibrous.

The stiff, pointed, fuzzy leaves reach up to 10 inches (25 cm) in length. They are cream on the edges and vivid blue at the center, and have tattered edges.

During late spring, the vine produces large amounts of small hazel flowers, and during the early summer, after flowering, it produces lots of small berries.

The bark, wood and leaves are edible.
It is suitable for making strong rope
