Blackberry

This large shrub grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 117 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has several sturdy, curved stems covered in very thick, smooth, black with white speckled bark, and the wood inside is copper-coloured.

The branches are long and thin with dozens of twigs that and are covered with very large amounts of large, finger-like, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in white, cyan and grey varieties, sturdy and smooth.

It produces many bunches of medium-sized, amber flowers with long, tapering petals with a tube-like floral cup. They detach easily and have a fairly strong scent that smells like an ocean breeze. In late winter it forms medium-sizedslate, tough-shelled seeds.
