Brown Moss

This brown moss is commonly found growing in giant clumps On rotten logs, and In rainy mountain ranges.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps, and is extremely frail.
When mature, emerald oval-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release hundred of spores.
