Brown Moss

This brown moss is commonly found blanketing small areas In rainforests, In damp forests, and In bogs.
It is large, growing up to 8 inches (20 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps and they spread and grow quickly, and is overwhelmingly sturdy; it can easily endure flooding and draughts.
When mature, emerald V-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release thousands of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
