Copperbell

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This big shrub grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for around 24 years. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has dozens of very thick, slanted stems covered in knobbly, light gray bark, and the wood inside is mahogany-coloured.

The branches are short stubs with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of giant, 2 pointed, leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are copper and dark grey, tough and sticky.

In early spring it produces handfuls of small, intense purple flowers with fan-like petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a strong scent that smells like warm milk.
