Silverleaf Sagebrush

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 45 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of narrow, twisting stems covered in thin, waxy, silver and white bark, and the wood inside is light brown.

The branches are long and slender that and are covered with sparse amounts of miniature, needle-like, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are either cream or aquamarine, with amber patches, resilient and rough.

In early summer it produces clusters of small, olive flowers with stiff, pointed petals with a tube-like floral cup. They detach easily and have a powerful scent that smells like baby powder.
