Silverfern

This giant tree grows up to 112 meters (367.5 feet) tall and lives "forever", with many known specimens being tens of thousands of years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, angular trunk covered in fine, wrinkled, silver bark, and inside, the very light wood is burgundy-brown.

The branches are very short and thin, with dozens of twigs covered with small amounts of tiny, green needles. The needles themselves are sturdy and flexible.

In late summer it produces giant, olive seed pods.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
