Copperfern

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 11 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of long and flexible, straight stems covered in fine, ridged, copper-coloured bark, and the wood inside is black with white speckles.

The branches are very short, thin and wispy that and are covered with sparse amounts of tiny, very narrow and elongated, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are generally violet, tough and waxy.

In late spring it produces hundreds of giant, bright green flowers with perforated petals with a tube-like floral cup. They detach easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like rotten eggs.
