Speckled Lime Tree

This huge tree grows up to 107 meters (351.1 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 125 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, straight trunk covered in ridged, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is brown.

The tangled mess of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with large amounts of soft, huge, long, tapering leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are either lime or ashy orange, with gentle yellow lines.

In late summer it forms tiny, hazel, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.
