Azureberry

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This small fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 19 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, straight trunk covered in knobbly, dark brown bark, and inside, the light wood is brown.

The branches are short and thick and are covered with small amounts of large, 8 pointed leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are generally gentle yellow.

In early spring, it produces thick bunches of tiny, purple blossoms with 4 crescent-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like a woman.

In mid-summer it produces , 8 pointed fruit. The rubbery azure skin is tough and savoury, and the soft red flesh is sweet and very juicy. The lime seeds are small and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
