Indigo-leaf Shrub

This massive shrub grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 143 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several knobbly, wonky stems covered in paper-thin, wrinkled, yellow-brown bark, and the wood inside is pine-coloured.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright with dozens of twigs that and are covered with very large amounts of giant, long, tapering, leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are silver on the edges and indigo at the center, frail and leathery.

It produces a handful of medium-sized, cream flowers with perforated petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have an intensely strong scent that smells like old books. In late summer it forms giantintense orange, tough-shelled seeds.
