Sunset Petal

This short flower grows up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. Its orange-yellow stems grow in bunches of 4 and are very thin and straight, and the small, copper leaves are kidney-shaped with rounded edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.

Two small flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 4 cm (1.6 inches) wide, with alternating petals of aquamarine and lilac, with a lime central disk. The flower head is made up of several petals in raised layers. They are very delicate.

It has an overpowering scent that smells like pineapple, and it has lots of pollen, but it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also visited by a small species of bird.
