Brown Moss

This brown moss is commonly found growing in large clumps In rainy mountain ranges, In heathlands, and In bogs.
It is big, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is very flimsy; it burns easily in strong sunlight.
When mature, emerald triangular capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release millions of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
