Blackvine
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This short tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 209 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.
It has a long and flexible, angular trunk covered in thin, waxy, black bark, and inside, the flexible wood is black.
The small bunches of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with copious amounts of soft, miniature, fan-like leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are generally aquamarine.
In early spring, it produces thick bunches of tiny, slate blossoms with perforated petals. They are sturdy and have a soft scent that smells like lemon.
In late summer it forms giant, florescent orange seed pods.
The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
