Crimson Leaf Bush

This average-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for around 21 years. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has many thick, slanted stems covered in silky, mahogany-coloured bark, and the wood inside is burgundy-brown.

The branches are short, rigid and upright with thousands of twigs that and are covered with handfuls of giant, slender, pointed, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in cream and crimson varieties, light and smooth.

It produces many giant, dull yellow flowers with fan-like petals. They fall easily and have a delicate scent that smells like musk. In mid-summer it forms medium-sizedbrown, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.
