Copperbud

Flower type: Annual (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This average-sized flower grows up to 8 inches (20 cm) tall. Its burgundy stem is thin, and the giant, copper leaves are asymmetrical with tattered edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

Dozens of tiny flowers grow along the length of the stem. The flowers are 9 cm (3.5 inches) wide, with cream petals on the lower layer and caramel petals decorated with magenta dots on the inner layer. The central disk is magenta. The flower head is largely flat with 25 tightly layered round-tipped petals. They are very delicate.

It has an intense scent that smells like meat, and it has very little pollen. It is a self-pollinator.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
The sap is edible and extremely savoury.
It is almost impossible to grow indoors.
