Crimson Succulent

This short cactus grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall. It splits at the base to form 2 asymmetrical stems. Each stem is lime green, and is covered in lots of rigid blood red spines.

It is quick growing, taking 3 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with alternating petals of yellow and muted blue, with a bright green central disk grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is largely flat with handfuls of tightly layered narrow petals. It has an intense scent that smells like cheap aftershave.

The cactus's skin is nearly impenetrable, the green flesh is leathery, and the pink sap is thin.
