Copperbell

Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in its stem)

This small flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its copper stems grow in bunches of 8 and are wispy with a curved tip, and the small, pink-red leaves are broad, flat with jagged edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

Several giant flowers grow in bunches along the stem. The flowers are 2 cm (0.8 inches) wide, with petals that are either black or blue, with a yellow center. The flower head is largely flat with handfuls of raised round-tipped petals. They are sturdy.

It has an intense scent that smells like fruity, and it has lots of pollen,but it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects , but is also visited by a small species of bird.

It can survive a very long time without water.
