Copperfruit Tree

This huge fruit tree grows up to 75 feet (22.9 meters) tall and lives for up to 40 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 59 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in fine, cracked, dark brown bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is light brown.

The abundance of branches are short stubs and are covered with small bunches of tiny, very thick leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are generally copper.

In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of small, drab green blossoms with shield-shaped shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a strong scent that smells like varnish.

In late summer it produces small, slender, 6 pointed fruit. The fuzzy hazel skin is delicate and inedible, and the crunchy azure flesh is sweet and very dry. The lime seed is small and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
