Blue Petal Flower

This huge flower grows up to 11.6 feet (3.5 meters) tall. Its emerald stem is thick, and the tiny, silver leaves are thin with jagged edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.

Each stem splits 3 to 6 times; a single small flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 27 cm (10.6 inches) wide, with petals that are either slate or sky blue, with a yellow center. The flower head is made up of 52 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cube. They are hardy.

It has a weak scent that smells like mint, and it has very little pollen, but can cause allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator, but is also visited by a variety of insects.
