Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 19 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.
It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in hard, ridged, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the soft wood is yellow.
The branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with copious amounts of giant, wide leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are gold and hazel.
In early spring, it produces large amounts of giant, slate blossoms with 3 cylindrical shaped petals. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like meat.
In mid-autumn it produces , spherical fruit. The soft olive skin is thin and inedible, and the soft brown flesh is spicy and dry. The blood red seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.
The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
