Brown Moss

This brown moss is commonly found growing in small clumps In marshes, In damp forests, and In rainy mountain ranges.
It is small, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps, and is very hardy.
When mature, emerald oblong capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release dozens of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
