Knobbleleaf Tree

This average-sized tree grows up to 17 meters (55.8 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 158 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, straight trunk covered in thick, knobbly, dark green bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is brown.

The small handful of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with large amounts of soft, giant, long, narrow leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are either black or orange, with purple lines.

In early spring, it produces dozens of giant, green blossoms with needle-like petals. They fall easily and have a powerful scent that smells like new books.

In late summer it forms giant, slate, spiky-shelled seeds.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
