Copperwood Moss

This copper moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In damp forests, and On trees.
It is massive, growing up to 11 inches (28 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps, and is overwhelmingly resilient.
When mature, emerald oblong capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release millions of spores.
