Copperfern

This massive shrub grows up to 13 feet (4.0 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 137 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many narrow, slanted stems covered in delicate, rough, copper-coloured bark, and the wood inside is silver.

The branches are very long and thin with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with copious amounts of huge, slender, pointed, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are solid amber or olive, with lilac edges, robust and smooth.

In mid-spring it produces clusters of medium-sized, aquamarine flowers with finger-like petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like fish.
