Cyan Fruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 68 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a slender, straight trunk covered in hard, waxy, mahogany-coloured bark, and inside, the very light wood is gray.

The small clumps of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with thick bunches of large, sickle shaped leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either aquamarine or cyan, with olive zig-zags.

In early spring, it produces many medium-sized, pale red blossoms with teardrop-shaped shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a mildly strong scent that smells like ashes.

In early winter it produces small, slender, 6 pointed fruit. The clammy amber skin is peel-able and inedible, and the soft caramel flesh is sweet and spicy and syrupy. The yellow seeds are small and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
