Copperberry

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 18 feet (5.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 81 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, crooked trunk covered in fine, cracked, light brown bark, and inside, the light wood is brown.

The excessive amount of branches are long and thick and are covered with very large amounts of large, wide leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are copper on the edges and slate at the center.

In early spring, it produces many large, purple blossoms with 5 pointed petals with a tube-like floral cup. They detach easily and have a strong scent that smells like perfume.

In mid-summer it produces , long, tapering fruit. The hairy peach skin is peel-able and inedible, and the slightly crunchy turquoise flesh is salty and powdery. The light brown seed is tiny and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
