Goldenleaf Succulent
Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)This modest-sized leaf succulent grows up to 40 feet (12.2 meters) tall. The tapering stem is slate, and is covered in hundreds of fine, white, hair-like spines. The smooth-edged, slender, pointed leaves are gold and brown. Sparse amounts of them grow from the base in a random bunch. The leaves are tough, but easily come away when pulled.
It is quick growing, taking 3 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with petals that are either lilac or blue, with a yellow center grow at the top, reappearing after 8 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is largely flat with 53 raised round-tipped petals. It has an intensely strong scent that smells like fish.
The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the brown flesh is smooth, and the purple sap is thin.
