Caramel Grass

Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in its leaves)

This small, florescent green grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The crescent-shaped stalks grow in sparse patches that are robust and they are slow to spread and grow.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a large, caramel tuft.

During the late summer, it produces a fair amount of pollen, and after flowering, it is left with lots of small grains.

It is said to be able to live for hundreds of years.
It is frequently struck by lightning.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
