This crimson moss is commonly found growing in small clumps On trees.
It is big, growing up to 8 inches (20 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps and they are exceptionally hardy, and is slightly robust.
When mature, emerald teardrop-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release hundred of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.

Ivy often grows along the trunk.
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
