Copperleaf

This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 440 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, wavy trunk covered in thin, smooth, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the flexible wood is pale brown.

The tangled mess of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with small bunches of clammy, giant, finger-like leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are cyan on the edges and lilac at the center.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, red, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
