Bloodgrass

This small, blood red or gold grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The broad, flat stalks grow in sparse patches that are robust and they are slow to spread and grow.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a large, hazel tuft.

During the late summer, it produces very little pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with a modest amount of giant grains.
