Crimson Moss

This crimson and beige moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas On rotten logs.
It is small, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is extremely frail; it takes a lot of damage when trodden on.
When mature, emerald oval-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release dozens of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.
