Ambervine

Flower type: Annual (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This huge flower grows up to 15.2 feet (4.6 meters) tall. Its lime green stems grow in bunches of 4 and are thin with a curved tip, and the miniature, bold red leaves are long, narrow with jagged edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.

Each stem splits 5 to 11 times; a single giant flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 92 cm (36.2 inches) wide, with solid amber petals decorated with indigo dots and a purple central disk. The flower head is largely flat with many widely spaced round-tipped petals. They fall easily.

It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like old shoes, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by insects and is visited by a large variety of them.

It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if it falls or if its limbs are knocked off.
It makes a distinctive sound when the wind blows through it.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
