Magenta

This small fruit tree grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 18 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, straight trunk covered in paper-thin, waxy, dark green bark, and inside, the light wood is white.

The branches are long, thin and wispy and are covered with large amounts of giant, long, narrow leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are brilliant green with magenta tips.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of medium-sized, copper blossoms with spear shaped petals. They are hardy and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like vanilla.

In late autumn it produces tiny, triangular fruit. The smooth caramel skin is peel-able and edible when boiled; it is sweet, and the slightly crunchy crimson flesh is bitter and very juicy. The cream seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.
