Copper

This short caudiciform grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall. The fan-like stem is green, and is covered in hundreds of fine, slate, hair-like spines. It has a straight, flat, hazel trunk atop a thick ball of wrinkled, exposed roots. The branches are wide and gray-green and are short stubs.

The irregular-edged, circular leaves are solid copper with dark yellow splotches. They are light, and are very difficult to pull away.

It is steady-growing, taking 5 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with intense orange petals on the lower layer and azure petals decorated with washed-out purple dots on the inner layer. The central disk is sky blue grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a cube with 56 raised, round-tipped petals. It has a strong scent that smells like varnish.

The caudiciform's skin is tough, the subtle green flesh is sticky, and the indigo sap is thin.
