Clinging Citrus

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 14 feet (4.3 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 28 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, angular trunk covered in delicate, knobbly, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the hard wood is black with white speckles.

The small bunches of branches are long and thin and are covered with small bunches of tiny, spear shaped leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either white, or brown with azure zig-zags.

In early spring, it produces thick bunches of medium-sized, peach blossoms with pleated petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a weak scent that smells like citrus.

In early summer it produces , asymmetrical fruit. The waxy lime skin is thin and inedible, and the very soft brown flesh is sour and very juicy. The red seed is very large and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.
