Blue Bindweed

Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short bine is a very fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 19 feet (5.8 meters) and growing as high as 111 feet (33.8 meters).

It takes 2 months for the orange stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 1 cm (0.4 inches) and are smooth and woody.

The needle-like, smooth leaves reach up to 4 inches (10 cm) in length. They are found in lilac, indigo and bronze varieties, and have ripped edges.

During late spring, the bine produces thick bunches of giant ashy blue flowers.

A particular bird species likes to nest in it.
It makes excellent hedges.
It is suitable for making strong rope
