Bluebell Shrub

This big shrub grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for around 35 years. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has numerous thick, twisting stems covered in smooth, dark gray bark, and the wood inside is yellow-brown.

The branches trail down to the ground that and are covered with thick bunches of small, cylindrical, leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are violet at the bottom and blue with slate patches at the top, delicate and smooth.

In late summer it produces thousands of tiny, blue flowers with spear shaped petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have the faintest scent that smells like marzipan.
