Aquaflora Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This small fruit tree grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 83 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, straight trunk covered in ridged, gray bark, and inside, the soft wood is white with black speckles.

The branches are long and slender and are covered with sparse amounts of miniature, teardrop-shaped leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are solid bronze or silver, with pale red zig-zags.

In early spring, it produces a handful of small, crimson blossoms with 8 teardrop-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have the faintest scent that smells like an ocean breeze.

In early winter it produces tiny, oblong fruit. The fuzzy cream skin is tough and edible when cooked; it is spicy and salty, and the very soft lime flesh is slightly sour and very dry. The crimson seed is very large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
