Blackwater Moss

This black or aquamarine moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas In damp forests, On rotten logs, and In rainy mountain ranges.
It is average-sized, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they spread and grow quickly, and is very flexible.
When mature, emerald oblong capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release hundred of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.

Ivy often grows along the trunk.
The sap is edible and overwhelmingly savoury.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
