Coilvine

This big fruit tree grows up to 37 feet (11.3 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 28 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a stocky, curved trunk covered in rough, yellow bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is pine-coloured.

The numerous branches are short stubs and are covered with small amounts of small, 2 pointed leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are generally green.

In early spring, it produces many giant, turquoise blossoms with finger-like petals. They fall easily and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like something putrid.

In early winter it produces large, long, tapering fruit. The hairy caramel skin is stretchy and inedible, and the crunchy silver flesh is sour and powdery. The caramel seed is small and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
