Bluegarlic Shrub

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 113 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several branched, straight stems covered in thin, wrinkled, brown-green speckled bark, and the wood inside is light brown.

The branches are short and thin with thousands of twigs that and are covered with small amounts of small, spear shaped, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are either amber, or hazel with intense purple streaks, delicate and soft.

In late summer it produces thick bunches of small, brilliant blue flowers with 9 oblong shaped petals. They fall easily and have a weak scent that smells like garlic.
